EETC Energy Auditor Certification Training

WATC will be hosting Energy Auditor training from the Energy and Environmental Training Center of Kansas City. Successful completion of this training results in EETC Energy Auditor Certification that qualifies auditors to participate in Efficiency Kansas rebate and loan programs.

EETC Energy Auditor Certification training:

Prepares students to perform audits for Efficiency Kansas and Missouri weatherization programs. This class includes a full week of building science fundamentals including computer training for the REM/Design Computerized Energy Audit developed by Architectural Energy Corporation -- and prepares participants to establish the “as-is” performance of residential structures, prioritize improvements based on computer modeling of the home, and reliably predict savings and increase energy efficiency of homes.

Certification requires one week of classroom/field house training, followed by successful completion of a written exam, field exam, and submission of 2 complete practice audits for review, (including data and CAZ collection, REM building file report, photos and drawings). 

Classes will be held IN WICHITA at the Southside Center at 47th Street South. The cost is $1495 including books and access to REM Design Software for 60 days.

Field exams can be given in Wichita per enough requests or can be scheduled at your convenience in Kansas City.  

The BPI (Building Performance Institute) Building Analyst certification is a nationally recognized standard for contractors in weatherization and home energy analysis. 

This training provides a thorough understanding of Building Science, including weatherization materials and techniques, as well as health, safety and air quality testing in homes.

4 days of classroom and field training, followed by BPI certification exams on the 5th day. 

Class price includes lunch, textbook (Residential Energy), and the BPI Building Analyst written exam. Students are encouraged to begin studying the book prior to class. 

Classes will be held IN WICHITA at the Southside Center at 47th Street South.

The BPI field exam can be scheduled upon successful completion of the class week and written exam. (Price of BPI Field Exam is included in this price).

The breakdown is $200 for the written BPI exam, and $200 to add the BPI field exam to your EETC Energy Audior Field Exam (concurrent).
